The new DSA5000 Pressure Scanner!

The all new DSA5000 is the latest advancement in the historically reliable and accurate DSA series pressure scanners. Engineered to be extremely versatile and accurate, several functional improvements have been added that put the DSA5000 at the front of pressure measurement solutions. With over 500 different configurations available, the DSA5000 can be customized to fit the most demanding applications.

The DSA5000 was designed with simplicity in mind – requiring only a power and Ethernet connection. All communications, configurations and engineering unit data output is handled over an Ethernet connection. A broad selection of data output formats and options are available including; TCP/IP, UDP and FTP data transfer protocols, in ASCII and Binary formats. A Webserver is fully integrated providing an intuitive and easy means for configuration and operation.

All new electronics have been added to the DSA5000 that allow us to maintain some legacy features of the DSA series for replacement compatibility, but include several new improvements. This includes one 24-bit ADC per pressure transducer (no multiplexing!), one RTD per pressure transducer for accurate temperature compensation, IEEE1588PTPv2 compliance for synchronization, and Engineering scan rates up to 5,000Hz (samples per channel per second).

Scanivalve has also developed a new and unique form of connectivity in the DSA5000: the option to use a hardware, multi-drop architecture. This features allows for a single Ethernet connection to a single DSA5000 which can then control and collect data from a number of other DSA5000 modules. Module identification, configuration, and synchronization happens seamlessly, minimizing setup time and frustration.

Other Features and Improvements

The demand for multi-channel, high-pressure measurement solutions is always increasing. We have spent considerable time researching sensors for the DSA5000 which has allowed us to expand the configurable pressure range from as low as 4″H20 up to 1000psid. This improvement also allows to us to study and prepare for future pressure ranges up to 1500psid.

The pressure range expansion also comes with a accuracy improvement in most ranges of up to ±0.04% FS, which makes the DSA5000 the most accurate pressure scanner on the market.

All DSA5000 configurations are IP67 rated, can be configured with a shock mount for a MIL-STD 810G Cat. 24, 514.6 rating (whether in the field or at the factory), the option for a “Quick-Disconnect” input header, and can include integral heaters for operations down to -50°C.

The integrated heater’s set point can now be controlled via software to allow the module to be customized for different sub-zero applications by the user in the field.

All pneumatic inputs, including measurement and utility inputs (CAL, REF, CTL), use a 5/16″x24 female threaded input. This highly adaptable fitting allows for different adaptors to be installed to convert this input to a Stainless Steel bulged tubulation, compression fitting, or a unique Scanivalve “quick-connect” fitting. Different fittings can be installed in every port and changed quickly.

Scanivalve continues to expand our product line to support our users worldwide. The DSA5000 is an excellent example how we can leverage our vast experience to design products that allow users to easily expand and maximize the capabilities of their Scanivalve pressure measurement systems.

ECM4000 – Ethernet Control Module!

Scanivalve is excited to announce a brand-new product: the ECM4000 – Ethernet Control Module. The ECM4000 has been designed to simplify integration and operation over a wide variety of pressure measurement systems. It provides a single point of communications for multiple pressure scanners as well as a simple solution for managing control pressures to pressure scanners.

The ECM4000 boasts 8 external digital inputs and 8 external digital outputs in addition to 3 internal solenoids designed to be used to manage pressure scanner control pressures. The ECM4000 is built around a core function of creating and executing scripts which can include responding to digital input signals, cycling digital outputs, cycling control pressures, sending Ethernet commands, querying pressure scanners or inserting timed delays. These basic functions can be programmed to help support a variety of needs in a pressure measurement system. Like most Scanivalve products, IEEE1588v2 Precision Time Protocol is supported providing excellent synchronization capabilities.

The ECM4000 is an excellent complement to any Scanivalve pressure measurement system. Its versatility and flexibility allow it to simplify the most complicated high-channel-count systems or get a simple system up and running quickly. Excellent for wind-tunnel, power generation, and test cell applications, the ECM4000 also has an optional heater for flight test applications. The ECM4000 is an excellent compliment to any DSA, MPS, or hybrid pressure measurement system.

Scanivalve continues to expand our product line to support our users worldwide. The ECM4000 is an excellent example how we can leverage our vast experience to design products that allow users to easily expand and maximize the capabilities of their Scanivalve pressure measurement systems.

If you have any questions on the ECM4000, or any Scanivalve products, please reach out to us! More information on the ECM4000 can be found on our website: Click Here!

New MPS4264 Configuration – The Electric Valve!

Scanivalve is excited to announce a new addition to the MPS4000 series – a Scanivalve first! We have added a third, non-pneumatic valve control configuration to the MPS4264 Miniature Pressure Scanner — the Electric Valve!

The MPS4264/EPx – Electric Valve was developed to eliminate the need for pneumatic control pressures. Extending the body of the MPS allotted the space to add a motor and gear in order to drive the valve. Simple software commands were added to the firmware to allow the valve state to be changed from Measurement mode to Calibrate/Purge, while maintaining the same optical sensor in order to query the current state of the valve. This makes the MPS4264/EPx ideal for applications where pneumatic control pressures are inconvenient or unavailable.

Beyond the modifications to the housing and increased power requirements, all other features of the EPx are identical to the pneumatic configurations including the sensor package, communications, and the option to be installed into a TCU. The EPx configuration is now available for order!

For more information on the MPS4264/EPx, please visit the MPS4264 product page to find the data sheet, 3D models, and other information about the Electric Valve.

MPS4164 – Miniature Analog Pressure Scanner Available Now!

The development and release of the MPS4000 was a major game changer to the pressure measurement industry, and has opened new doors for Scanivalve. The continuous development for smaller, more accurate pressure scanners has introduced a new scanner to the MPS4000 family – the MPS4164 Miniature Analog Pressure Scanner.

The MPS4164 is similar to the MPS4264 in many ways; small form factor, same valve design and configurations, ultra-stable pressure sensors, and the option to be installed in a MPSTCU. However, the MPS4164 is not an Ethernet intelligent device – this MPS is an analog pressure scanner that can be used in conjunction with a data acquisition system, like the DSM4000 or ERAD4000.

The MPS4164 was designed to be a direct replacement for the ZOC33 offering a smaller form factor, improved temperature stability, new-and-improved valve, and achieving higher accuracy standards. The MPS4164 uses the same 15 pin electrical connector as the ZOC33, and the CPx valve configuration offers users the ability to use same pneumatic control pressures to operate the valve.

The MPS4164 is available and we are now accepting orders!

MPS4264 Serial Number 200!

Two weeks ago we celebrated the final checkout procedure for serial number 200 (unit number 100) of our newest line of pressure scanners – the MPS4264. The MPS4264 has broken pivotal ground in the pressure measurement arena, and we are continuing our development of additions and options to incorporate into the MPS4000 family. We would like to thank everyone for their support, patronage, and friendship over the years, and we look forward to the new era of pressure measurement instrumentation – the MPS4000 series!
