New DSA5000 Features and Configurations

The DSA5000 intelligent pressure scanner is the most configurable and versatile scanner in Scanivalve history, developed specifically to meet a wide range of applications. To further expand the use-cases, several new configurations and features have been added to make the DSA5000 the most diverse pressure measurement device available.

Left to Right: Standard Gas/TCP, All-Media/TCP, and Gas/iDDS

All-Media Build

The All-Media DSA5000 configuration was designed for applications measuring non-dry gas media. This variant can be used in applications measuring fuel, oil, water, vapor and more. It maintains many of the same features of the DSA5000 gas models, including form factor and mounting options, heater option, software and communications, pneumatic inputs, electrical connections, and standards (IP67, CE, etc.).

The All-Media DSA5000 replaces the DSA3207 series scanners, currently offering gauge pressure sensors with ranges from 1PSI to 1500PSI, in single or dual-range configurations. These DSA5000s can be configured with standard communications (TCP Native) or iDDS.

1000PSI to 1500PSI Range

All DSA5000 variants (gas and all-media) are now available in ranges up to 1500PSI. This addition in the DSA5000 series meets the industry demand for high range, multi-channel pressure measurement for engine power testing and development and similar applications. With better electronics and hardware, this also increases the accuracy of the DSA5000 1500PSI range over the legacy DSA3207 series; 0.15% for gas DSA5000, and 0.2% for all-media DSA5000.

iDDS Communication Option

The DSA5000 is now available with a new communication option: iDDS. iDDS stands for ‘instrumentation Data Distribution Service’ and was initially defined by Rolls Royce. Since initial development, it has become open sourced, accepted and recognized by many gas turbine and jet engine developers. Scanivalve has partnered with MDS Aero Systems for the iDDS development, and we are now compliant with their NxDAS software platform which is widely used and accepted in this industry. More information on iDDS can be found here: iDDS. Information through MDS Aero can be found here: MDS AERO.

DSA3200 Emulator Software

To help the transition from the long-standing DSA3200 series to the new DSA5000 scanner, an embedded DSA3200 emulator has been added to the native DSA5000 operating firmware. This emulator was designed for the DSA5000 to communicate and output data similar to a DSA3200. This allows legacy software platforms developed around the DSA3200 to configure and collect data from a DSA5000 without needing to modify software code. The emulator is available in versions 1.08 and higher of the DSA5000. A white paper discussing the replacement of a DSA3200 with a DSA5000 and the utilization of the DSA3200 emulator software can be found on the DSA5000 web page, or directly through this link.

More details on these new features and configurations can be found on the DSA5000 web page, the DSA5000 Data Sheet, and in the DSA5000 User Manual. All available configurations are now available in the DSA5000 Part Number Generator on the DSA5000 web page.

SPC4000 End of Life

Scanivalve has been partnered with Mensor LP for many years to produce and support the SPC4000 series of Pressure Calibrators. The SPC4000 is an OEM custom adaptation of the Mensor APC600/CPC6000 to suit Scanivalve customer’s specific needs. As of 12/31/2023, Mensor is ending software and hardware support for the APC600, CPC6000 and SPC4000 series Pressure Calibrators. As such, Scanivalve will be categorizing the SPC4000 as ‘End of Life’ beginning 12/31/2023.

The SPC4000 was replaced by the SPC4050 in early 2019. The SPC4050 is the recommended replacement for the SPC4000 as it includes improvements to many of the functions found in the SPC4000. Additionally, the SPC4050 is compatible with most SPC4000 pressure transducers.

MPS4232 Now Supports 100PSI Range

Around one year ago, Scanivalve released a new miniature pressure scanner – the MPS4232. Thanks to valuable customer input, we are excited to announce expanded pressure measuring capabilities in our MPS4232 pressure scanner. We are now offering the MPS4232 scanner in pressure ranges up to 100psid- which is a 2x improvement from our previous offering.

The new 100psid pressure range utilizes a new sensor die which is incredibly stable, repeatable, and accurate. Utilizing our proprietary calibration routine, this new sensor has proven that it can easily maintain an accuracy of 0.06% F.S. or better across the calibrated range of the sensor (0-70°C).

With the addition of the 100psid sensors in the MPS4232, we are now also able to offer custom calibrated ranges between 50psid and 100psid to suit specific measurement needs.

Scanivalve continues to expand our product line to support our users worldwide. The improved pressure range offering in the MPS4232 is an excellent example how we can leverage our vast experience to design and update products that allow users to easily expand and maximize the capabilities of their Scanivalve pressure measurement systems.

If you have any questions about the MPS4232, or any Scanivalve products, please reach out to us! More information on the MPS4232 can be found on our website: Click Here!

MPS4232 – Miniature 32 Channel Pressure Scanner- Available Now!

Scanivalve is excited to announce a brand-new product: the MPS4232 – Miniature Pressure Scanner. The MPS4232 miniature pressure scanner represents the forefront of pressure measurement technology. It has been designed from the ground up with size, accuracy, speed, and functionality in mind. This new scanner boasts 32 discrete pressure channels, a small footprint, TCP/IP Ethernet connectivity, an A/D per channel, synchronous scanning, and a wealth of other innovative features.

The MPS4232 electronics are designed around a high performance dual-core processor which can produce engineering unit data for 32 pressure channels synchronously at rates in excess of 850Hz (samples per channel per second). Onboard flash memory stores the pressure-temperature matrix that allows for the conversion of RAW 24-bit A/D counts to precise engineering unit data over a wide operating temperature (0-70°C).

The MPS4232 makes communications simple by including an integral web server and supporting a wide variety of standard Ethernet communication protocols. The MPS4232 also supports IEEE1588v2 Precision Time Protocol: an Ethernet based, time synchronization method. Leveraging this technology allows the user to synchronize multiple MPS units, or other devices that support IEEE1588v2, to sub-microsecond resolve.

Scanivalve continues to expand our product line to support our users worldwide. The MPS4232 is an excellent example how we can leverage our vast experience to design products that allow users to easily expand and maximize the capabilities of their Scanivalve pressure measurement systems.

If you have any questions about the MPS4232, or any Scanivalve products, please reach out to us! More information on the MPS4232 can be found on our website: Click Here!

DSAENCL4000 now features IEEE-1588v2 Precision Time Protocol compatibility

The latest software release for the DSAENCL4000 allows for IEEE-1588 v2 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) compatibility. PTP compatibility includes the ability for the DSAENCL to act as a PTP master and serve the time to other compatible Scanivalve devices, or act as a PTP slave and get the time from a PTP Grandmaster or other master device. This enables users to synchronize their scan data between their DSAENCL and other PTP compliant devices.

Some older DSAENCL4000 hardware may not support the PTP firmware update. Please contact Scanivalve if you have questions about your DSAENCL4000 and hardware.

To view more information on the DSAENCL and PTP, please visit the DSAENCL webpage and review the DSAENCL4000 Hardware and Software manual. For the firmware file to update your ENCL, please contact us!
